Wing It Belfast Review

 Wing It, Malone Road

On arrival to wing it I was surprised as I was unaware it was outdoor only seating, so make sure to wrap up warm. The setting was very laid back and inviting, there were outdoor heaters provided and cutlery boxes which included wipes, wooden knives and forks. Wing it is self service so you order, collect and bin your food yourself, so there isn't much to judge on the customer service really. 

The menu had a wide variety of different flavours, and included indications of how spicy any sauce with a bit of heat are. We all agreed everything was reasonably priced, and were surprised by all the different options for fries.

One of my housemates and I decided to go for the 20 proper wings, choosing the following four flavours:

BBQ bang bang- This sauce we both felt was perfect, it had a sweet taste to it, and out of all four this was my housemates favourite with a 4.5/5 rating 

Salt and Chilli- This I wouldn't consider as being a sauce, just a wing cover in salt and chilli flakes, it was far too salty I felt it may burn my tongue, we tried one each and didn't finish the rest, would not recommend and the rating given was 1/5

Chilli Garlic: I have never tried a sauce like this before, is not a typical flavour that you can get anywhere so was nervous as to what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised, it had the perfect balance and wasn't overpowered with garlic as that is what I feared could have been the case. Would highly recommend and was my personal favourite, therefore I would give this sauce a 5/5

Buffalo- Personally I wasn't overly impressed by the buffalo, I would consider this as my favourite sauce and go to for wings, but this sauce wasn't anything special, although it wasn't bad and they were all finished, it was just average. therefore giving the rating of 3.5/5

We also ordered the salt and chilli fries on the side, and these were amazing and would definitely recommend to a friend, much nicer as a topping on fries than wings. Although if not a fan of salt would not order as again, overload of salt, not as much as the wings but still a lot. The rating we gave for these was 4.5/5

Knowing it is a chicken wing place, my friends who are vegetarian said they did not have high expectations. However, they were happily surprised when they seen they had a range of sides including:

 Mac and Cheese- They really enjoyed the mac and cheese, the cheese sauce was light and not too overpowering cheese taste. the breadcrumbs on top they agreed added to it and wouldn.t have been the same without them, giving it a rating of  4/5

Parmesan Truffle Fries: These fries were just okay, got sickening very quickly and would not recommended to a friend., therefore giving it the rating of 2/5.

Regular Fries: Reasonable size portion just regular plain fries no complaints therefore rating of 5/5

Garlic Aioli: Very thick consistency, almost like soft cheese, although still tasted good and would rate it a 4/5
